Vivian Balzerkiewitz already worked as a photo editor during her photojournalism studies at the HS Hannover. In 2011 she built up a photo editorial department for the "Weser Kurier" in Bremen. She worked for G+J in Hamburg and until her graduation as a freelance photo editor for WELT am Sonntag as well as for the Magazin WELT. In 2013, she began working as a photo editor at the Süddeutsche Zeitung in Munich. From 2014 to 2019, she was the responsible photo editor for SZ Magazin am Wochenende. Since 2020, she is now the picture editor for the climate and energy team at Greenpeace and focuses particularly on journalistic photography with an attentive perspective and precise aesthetics.
