Iris Sikking is an independent curator based in Amsterdam. As a curator, lecturer and writer, she positions herself in the overlapping field of photography, film and digital art. Currently she is working on a a collection exhibition and book of Chas Gerretsen for the Nederlands Fotomuseum Rotterdam She continues her research on photographic exhibition practices with the volume Curating images - Perspectives on Photography Curation (working title). In 2022 she will be the chief curator for the german Biennale für Aktuelle Fotografie taking place in Mannheim, Ludwigshafen and Heidelberg. "I am keen to work with artists whose practice is positioned at the crossroads of photography, contemporary art and activism. In my exhibitions I aim to create an immersive spatial design to profoundly engage the visitor." Iris Sikking says about herself.
