scouts.

August as part of Photoszene United, she is also involved in the boards of FREELENS and the Female
Photoclub.

Juliane Herrmann will present her work “Attitude” at the Mountainview Gallery. “Attitude” is part of a longterm
project about the international Scout movement on which Juliane Herrmann has been working since
2018.

The Boy Scouts are an international, religiously and politically independent grouping for children and young people.
Worldwide, more than 41 million people from 216 countries belong to the youth movement.
Scouts are committed to independent and responsible action, tolerance, environmental protection and sustainability.
How this philosophy is lived out in detail can vary greatly from country to country. In “Attitude”, Juliane Herrmann
examines the inner and outer attitudes of young scouts from 113 nations. She gives the protagonists a lot
of room for self-dramatization. Through their posture, their facial expression, their outer appearance
and their costume, their individuality becomes visible. At the same time, their cultural background
and their affiliation to the scouting movement of a certain country becomes visible.

The MOUNTAINVIEW Gallery is an open air gallery of the Fuhrwerkswaage.
Especially during the COVID19 pandemic, art has been
presented here since 2020 in an analog way and without time restrictions
