Retreat into the Private Realm Maintain a distance? Quite the opposite: In these times of pandemic, we encounter the people in the portraits taken by Michael Wagener intimately, intensely and in close-up. He scans his counterpart through the perspective of a macro lens and re-assembles the created picture series with a Cubist look. Now sensitive and ambiguous, now wittily humorous or as a statement. Alongside those, we find further photographic works in the eccentric ambiance of a vacant tea shop.
