The photographs here in the gallery belong to the series Ridge. They are pigment prints, which the artist has mounted in lead frames and sealed with a Plexiglas surface. Nishikawa’s works appear to plunge an encountered nature into a slumber, in order then – as on waking – to have it become visible again. It is the level between light and dark, which returns the underlying image motif to a developmental stage of manifesting.
