How to activate archives? How can archives be activated? A rumbling escapes from wooden boxes that give the impression of a depot. If one comes into physical contact with them, voices can clearly be heard that tell of dealing with archives. The boxes form the outer shell of the archive. In Yasmine Eid-Sabbagh's sound installation, the ethnographic photography archive of the Rautenstrauch-Joest-Museum is activated via the conscious non-display and discussed through new perspectives.
