PHOTON invents, asserts, and occupies the niche of sound-based photo works. Whereas sound is already subject to certain standards in film, the photo struggles with it: rumours or alleged behind-the-camera events feature in the discourse more often than audio does. The “sound in the image” vacancy can easily move the photo as medium into another direction. This displacement – and its destination, as yet unforeseeable – is what this exhibition intends to initiate.
