The Little Game between the I and the Me - Art and Choreography
Chapter 6: Hannah Villiger
Hannah Villiger began to explore her body with the camera in 1980. In a dialogue with herself - as a "little game between the I and the me" (Diary 1989) - she photographs herself with an instant camera. She enlarged the images and mounted them on aluminium panels, which she arranged to form blocks. By re-centring on herself, she performed pioneering work for a self-aware, alternative way of seeing the body from a female point of view.
