Japan’s geographical location constitutes a major challenge to architects and urban planners, because every region of the island chain exhibits different characteristics. In addition, there are threats due to natural hazards such as earthquakes and tsunamis.
The exhibition by the Japan Foundation pursues the question of the natural-to-built environment ratio in Japan. It documents some 80 prominent construction projects on photo panels featuring impressive large and detailed shots.
