BIPOLAROID DISORDER
An ever-recurring theme in Antonia Gruber’s work is the visualization of inner conflicts, as well as the physical and psychic fragility of the human being. In this work, Antonia Gruber plays with perception and misleads the beholder with a deliberate shift of perspective, deformations, and distractions. In a radically experimental manner, with the aid of her Polaroid camera, she casts doubt on the image’s reproducibility.
